(San Diego) Did you know that by calling 1-800-510-2020, adults age 60 and older, and their caregivers, can receive free legal advice to take care of simple legal matters through San Diego County's Elder Law and Advocacy program?

Ms. Anabel Kuykendall, Outreach and Education specialist from the County of San Diego, Aging and Independence Services (AIS), recently conducted a workshop sponsored by the University of the Philippines Alumni Association of San Diego (UPAASD). The workshop, the first of a series scheduled for the year, was held on March 8, 2008 at the Kalusugan Community Services Center. Ms. Kuykendall highlighted several of the more than 30 programs offered by AIS available for seniors and disabled adults in the following areas: protection and advocacy, health independence, home-based services, enrichment and involvement, and caregiver services. UPAASD Founder Dr. Juanita Caccam chaired the event, with assistance from UPAASD's Workshop Committee.
