ANNUAL CONCERT OF PHILIPPINE DANCES AND MUSIC RESCHEDULED ON JANUARY 5 & 6, 2008

Dear UP Alumni & Friends,

May we invite you again to watch this exhilirating performance of Philippine dances and music to be held at the Joan Kroc Theater on January 5 & 6, 2008. Your patronage and support of Samahan's programs is vital to the survival of our Philippine dance and music education. For more than thirty years, Samahan has been training quite a number of students to perform our folk dances and music. Our students and performers now are mostly US borne, and yet they love and enjoy performing our unique dances. Most of them have been attending our folk dance classes since they were in grade school. Having a large audience at the concert would certainly boost their morale and pride in performing.

We, who mostly are first generation Filipino immigrants, must also love our dances and music. This is the time again to reminisce our school days when we used to learn how to perform our folk dances. Mind you, nowadays very few schools in the Philippines teach folk dancing...

We are reaching out to you, UP alumni, because Samahan was founded by a UP alumni and a number of its board members are also UP alumni. We need your support. Please help us spread the word about this upcoming Philippine dance & music concert. See press release below.

Thanks,

Dina
